The device consists of implantable and external parts connected with an electric cable going through a percutaneous lead in the patient’s skin that is protected with a membrane. The implanted pump is connected to the heart with artificial tubes (cannulae): the pump inlet—to the left ventricle, and the pump outlet – to the aorta. |
